i have an interview with a quiz on C++ tomorrow. i've been browing for some typical questions ...
here is what i got ...can't believe that Microsoft would actually ask those questions!
Microsoft sucks!!! :)
Microsoft Interview Questions
Interviewing at Microsoft used to be different from Interviwing at other companines. However, with the advent of a new economy and the Internet things have changed dramatically in the past few years.
More and more companies are adopting Microsoft Interviewing philosophy and hence their questions. Here is a typical set of Interview questions asked for an entry level Software Design Engineer(SDE) or Internship position.
* If you had an infinite supply of water and a 5 quart and 3 quart pail, how would you measure exactly 4 quarts?
* If you are on a boat and you throw out a suitcase, will the level of water increase?
* On an average, how many times would you have to open the Seattle phone book to find a specific name?
* There are 3 ants at 3 corners of a triangle, they randomly start moving towards another corner. What is the probability that they don't collide?
* If you look at a clock and the time is 3:15, what is the angle between the hour and the minute hands? ( The answer to this is not zero!)
* What new feature would you add to MSWORD if you were hired?
* Why did you pick the school you graduated from?
* Why do you want to work for Microsoft?
* How many Gas stations are there in the US?
* How would you weigh a plane without using scales?
* How would you move Mt. Everest?
* Two MIT math graduates bump into each other at Fairway on the upper west side. They hadn't seen each other in over 20 years.
The first grad says to the second: "how have you been?"
Second: "Great! I got married and I have three daughters now"
First: "Really? how old are they?"
Second: "Well, the product of their ages is 72, and the sum of their ages is the same as the number on that building over there.."
First: "Right, ok.. oh wait.. hmmmm.., I still don't know"
second: "Oh sorry, the oldest one just started to play the piano"
First: "Wonderful! my oldest is the same age!"
Problem: How old are the daughters?
* Why are beer cans tapered at the top and bottom?
* Why is it that hot water in a hotel comes out instantly but at home it takes time?
* How many times a day a clock's hands overlap?
* Mike has $20 more than Todd. How much does each have given that combined they have $21 between them. You can't use fractions in the answer.(Hint: This is a trick question, pay close attention to the condition)
* There are four dogs, each at the counter of a large square. Each of the dogs begins chasing the dog clockwise from it. All of the dogs run at the same speed. All continously adjust their direction so that they are always heading straight towards their clockwise neighbor. How long does it take for the dogs to catch each other? Where does this happen? (Hint: Dog's are moving in a symmetrical fashion, not along the edges of the square).

pet peeve of the week!
i hate to miss my bus, especially by one or two minutes!!! It happened this Saturday and therefore i had to wait for somebody to come and pick me up!!!
While waiting, a teenage boy (maybe 17 or 18) started to cruise me! "Do you go to high school? are you going home? wanna stay with me? or go out with me, and blablablabla!!!"
He thought i had probably the same age as him! Man, that's annoying!! Glad i had my book and was busy reading it!!
How can I make myself look scary????

i went to snowboard today, with a temperature of +4C. It was like surfing on the waters! Even though i was on the baby hill (stil!!!), i was sliding fairly fast! and of course, i still have to fall 4 or 5 times before hitting the feet of the hill ... :) my butt still hurts from last time :( .. this time, i had some bruises on the legs ... no pain no gain ... what gain???
We finished our day with a piece of pie at Rockaberry's, miaaaaaaaaaaaaam :)!!! That's the gain (plus a few pounds too!!!)
BTW, happy easter to all, let's rejoice! Our Lord's risen from the dead!!

le poème du jour
le chat et le soleil
Le chat ouvrit les yeux
Le soleil y entra
Le chat ferma les yeux
le soleil y resta.
Voilà pourquoi, le soir,
Quand le chat se réveille,
J'aperçois dans le noir
Deux morceaux de soleil.
Maurice CAREME

si l'âme n'avait pas d'arc en ciel, les yeux n'auraient pas de larmes....

I went to Mt-Bromont to snow board this weekend and came back alive!!! It was quite fun! It was my first time too so I fell very often. Fortunately, the snow was thick so the landing wasn't too bad! but once I fell big time on my butt. It hurts!!!

how old am i really??? :(
You Are 20 Years Old |
20 Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe. 13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world. 20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences. 30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more! 40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax. |

Virgin!
Yes, Virgin Mobile is finally in Quebec now!! Sir Richard Branson came in person to promote it in the Eaton Center.
So, Fido has to bark louder now! :-)!
One gone another found! In the world of telecommunications, nothing is lost!
In the news, today, I read that a team of 50 snails took the rocket and went into the space to the ISS!! They are so lucky! or maybe not ... will they be the food of the astronauts???!!! hihhihi. No, they will be part of an experiment ... did they have to go through a training like human beings befor sent into the space??? How do they move in the 'air'??!!

Engineers ...
What is an engineer?
I still don't know the answer after 7 years of engineering studies ... sigh *^@^*. I just read that Microsoft is looking for a Rapid Response Engineer, not an electrical or mechanical one, but a rapid response one!!!!! What's that???
I thought that L'ecole Polytechnique had the most kinds of engineering programs, they have 11 kinds (chemical, mechanical, industrial, etc.) but no Rapid Response Engineering!!
Which university offers it???
