what i learned this week -

or at least, what i was reminded of ...

--------------------------------------------

The Great Life (My utmost for his highest by Oswald Chambers)

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled . . . —John 14:27

Whenever we experience something difficult in our personal life, we are tempted to blame God. But we are the ones in the wrong, not God. Blaming God is evidence that we are refusing to let go of some disobedience somewhere in our lives. But as soon as we let go, everything becomes as clear as daylight to us. As long as we try to serve two masters, ourselves and God, there will be difficulties combined with doubt and confusion. Our attitude must be one of complete reliance on God. Once we get to that point, there is nothing easier than living the life of a saint. We encounter difficulties when we try to usurp the authority of the Holy Spirit for our own purposes.

God’s mark of approval, whenever you obey Him, is peace. He sends an immeasurable, deep peace; not a natural peace, "as the world gives," but the peace of Jesus. Whenever peace does not come, wait until it does, or seek to find out why it is not coming. If you are acting on your own impulse, or out of a sense of the heroic, to be seen by others, the peace of Jesus will not exhibit itself. This shows no unity with God or confidence in Him. The spirit of simplicity, clarity, and unity is born through the Holy Spirit, not through your decisions. God counters our self-willed decisions with an appeal for simplicity and unity.

My questions arise whenever I cease to obey. When I do obey God, problems come, not between me and God, but as a means to keep my mind examining with amazement the revealed truth of God. But any problem that comes between God and myself is the result of disobedience. Any problem that comes while I obey God (and there will be many), increases my overjoyed delight, because I know that my Father knows and cares, and I can watch and anticipate how He will unravel my problems.

----------------------

i have been experiencing problems almost every day since the past few months ... and i am sure that more problems are to come but as long as i am right with God (or obey Him), I do not need to fear or to worry. He has provided for me!!

a journey by yourself

i just realized that being pregnant is not just tough but it is also dangerous. indeed, being pregnant can make you further from your partner. you and your patner are not on the same wavelength. indeed, once the partner is over the first initial shock, for him, having a baby is like online shopping. he orders a baby and pouff 9 months later, the baby gets delivered! he has a baby!
but for the woman, it is a process ... during 9 months, she goes through all kinds of drastic and uncomprehensible changes, moods, feelings, states of minds, body pains, etc. most of the time, the patner cannot understand or experience those things. it is hard to explain.

just a thought ...

then comes the final sprint - labour + delivery- that's an adventure from another world. the partner may be very supportive during the 9 months and the delivery, but he is not the one doing it. it is different.

christmas tree

baby stuff overload weekend

people can't tell me that i didn't try to give some time to the baby. on friday evening, we went to an information session about baby stuff, i.e. what to buy for the arrival of the baby. the session lasted for more than 2 hours. it was information overload. i can't believe that a baby needs so much stuff. i was so shocked by the price of the stroller when they showed us the bugaboo stroller, which is supposed to be the best ( i guess .. by its price ... it is over 1200$!!) can you believe that???
how many patents does it have?? i wonder!

another funny apparatus was the blow-baby-nose apparatus. so, apparently, babies don't know how to blow their nose (they are really hopeless!). this apparatus help the parents to help their babies to blow their nose! one end goes into the baby's nose, the other end goes to the parent's mouth. the 2 ends are connected by a tube. everything is transparent in the apparatus. the parent is supposed to inhale ... gross!! supposably, the stuff from the baby won't go to the parent. scary!

then on sunday, we went to a show/salon mom to be. we were there for maybe 5 minutes to 10 minutes max. we entered, we saw the booths, we walked until the end, we walked back and we went out!!

i guess we were supposed to talk to the people at the booth, to ask them to explain to us their products or whatever. but i had no idea what their products were and just wanted to leave the place.

it was too much unknown stuff and baby stuff for me!!!

so, after all that, i am so not motivated to buy anything ...

ps: the information session gave us a list of things to buy that covers 5 pages!!!!! that made me realize that my 2 concerns were too small (budget and space)!!!!
