Ethipian Food!

With some friends, we went out yesterday to celebrate my birthday (which is in September by the way ... i don't know how to call it ... we are the kings of procrastination!).

I didn't expect much but i was very surprised by the good food from this Ethiopian restaurant, le Nil Bleu! Maybe because we used our hands to eat. That makes the food taste better!

So, there is no forks and knives. We use the rolled 'crepes' to take the meat or salad. It was a very interesting and pleasant experience. If every Ethipian could eat like what we did, they would be all fat, I think!! CARAMBAAAAAAAAAAA :)

OK!

Just learned the origins of the word OK. It comes from WW2. OK = Zero Killed. When soldiers say OK, it meant nobody was killed, so everything was fine! Voilâ!

The most depressing day ...

was found to be yesterday, Jan 24th 2005, according Dr. Cliff Arnall's calculations, at University of Cardiff, Wales. Here is the model he developed:

[W + (D-d)] x TQ
= ------------------
M x NA

This equation takes into account seven variables: (W) weather, (D) debt, (d) monthly salary, (T) time since Christmas, (Q) time since failed quit attempt, (M) low motivational levels and (NA) the need to take action.

This means that, if I was in a bad mood yesterday, it wasn't my fault! :-P

What about the happiest day of the year?

My trip to the Grand Canyon ...

is a real joke!! They put us with some Japanese tourists. The guide is Japanese and speaks Japanese. The program of the trip is in Japanese, Korean and Chinese!!! No English or French!! That's when I hate that i can't read Chinese!!
The weather was so bad that we couldn't see anything! (cf. pictures below). The Japanese tourists were asking: where is the Grand Canyon???
Not only did I see nothing but also I fell on the floor because of the snow ... how ironic ... I didn't even fall once this year in Montreal!!!
In the middle of the desert, it was snowing! How amazing!

Welcome back to reality!

From Sunny California (65F or 19C) to White Cold Montreal (-32C) in just a few hours ...

The price to pay to be different …

Normally people come back on Sunday from their vacation and start working on Monday. Not me. I stayed one day extra. Result? Six colleagues from work called me on Monday, starting from 7:30 am (Montreal time), which is 4:30 am in L.A. I know they miss me (or maybe not) but please behave and let me sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My first time!

We had a snow storm this afternoon. At 10p.m., I decided to go to the bank because i am leaving tomorrow for L.A. (early in the morning!!). It took me more than 5 minutes to get the car started and then I got stuck for more than 10 minutes. There was a car behind me, the driver came out and wanted to help me push the car ... It is hard to drive on more than 10 cm of snow without Winter tires. I was driving at 5km per hour!!!!!!! On the way back, it was even worse. But i almost made it (because i couldn't park!). My dad and I pushed the car while my brother was trying to park!!! It took so long ... so i left, hope they had fun!!!

The transation at the bank lasted for about 5 seconds. Tout ça pour ça!! Argrhhhhhhhh!!

A study ...

It's been everywhere ... A study done in England shows that the more intelligent a woman is, the harder it is for her to get married.

I am still single, is it a sign??? :-)

As far as men are concerned, the trend is reversed. The more intelligent a man is, the more chances he has to get married ...

The study was conducted among 900 men and women.

Indian food rocks!!

My Indian friends invited me over for some Indian food. Yummy!!! I'd better write it down before I forget what I ate: cholle-peutouree! That's all folks!

I Offer My Life

All that I am, all that I have,
I lay them down before You, O Lord.
All my regrets, all my acclaim,
The joy and the pain, I'm making them Yours.

Lord, I offer my life to You.
Everything I've been through, use it for Your Glory.
Lord, I offer my days to You,
Lifting my praise to You, as a pleasing sacrifice
Lord, I offer You my life.

Things in the past, things yet unseen,
Wishes and dreams that are yet to come true,
All of my hopes, all of my plans,
My heart and my hands are lifted to You.

Happy New Year!

Montreal is flooded! (i am exaggerating, hihhihi). The new year starts with +5C. Pretty good!

It is time to say bye bye to 2004. For that occasion, I entered 2004 on google. The first two items are ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games and UEFA 2004 Euro.
So 2004 was a sportive year, huh?
